Luke has had success and experience in one of the toughest open wheel categories, the Australian Formula Ford. His dedication to learning the art of driving has set him up to achieve his high flying dreams. Luke has had wins and podiums at national level open wheel sprint style races as well as becoming an Australian Endurance Champion. 2016 saw him become the third winner in the Toyota 86 Racing Series in its inaugural season debut.
In the 2016 T86RS, 4 out of 48 drivers were lucky enough to stand on the top step of the podium. Luke was one of these drivers. A breakthrough win at Sandown in round 3 of the championship saw him set the lap record and join eventual champion Will Brown, Formula Ford Champ Cameron Hill and V8 Utes Champion David Sieders as the only winners from the 15 race championship. Luke finished his 2018 season runner up in the Toyota 86 Racing Series after over 8 podiums throughout the year.
Luke’s aim is to contest at the top level of the world’s biggest touring car and sportscar championships, including Japanese Super GT, V8 Supercars, Australian GT Championship and The World Endurance Championship.

LUKE IS COMMITTED TO HIS GOALS
The drive for Luke to achieve is huge and he has the simple understanding that without performing for sponsors off track, he won’t have the chance to perform on track. Luke has taken extended leave from his full-time Project Planner role at Origin Energy that will allow him to commit to his racing goals, working for his sponsors and servicing the opportunities which arise throughout the season.
Since 2013 Luke has worked as a performance driving instructor, working many high profile corporate and private events for The Formula Company and Fastrack V8 Experience, which Includes brand representation for manufacturers such as Volkswagen, Lexus, Renault, Aston Martin and Jaguar. This saw Luke rub shoulders with 1980 F1 World Champion Alan Jones and current V8 Supercar drivers.
Luke’s presentation and communication skills with clients has set him in good stead for furthering this career and places him as an asset to any brand or sponsor.
Luke has an impressive resume outside of racing, with certificates in frontline management, endorsements in leadership and a mechanical engineering trade certificate (Fitter Machinist by trade). He is proud to have worked with his father Brad King and Aussie motorsport icon John Goss on his two Bathurst winning replicas.
When Luke was 18 he tasted overseas travel working for John Goss’s brother Paul on the private Super Yacht ADIX for 12 months. These experiences gave Luke huge confidence and ability in all areas of life at a young age, moulding him into the person he is today.
